TV Jazz Music Gets Its Groove With Launch On Global IPTV Network

Other Topics:  IPTV Digital Workflow, Telecom Conference, IPTV Company Growth

TV World Productions Ltd
December 15, 2008

Brighton, UK - TV World Productions Ltd unites jazz music fans the world over with the launch of TV Jazz Music – the latest offering from the company’s ever growing collection of television channels. Set up to showcase new and upcoming jazz music talent to a worldwide audience, TV Jazz Music features music, interviews with artists, footage from festivals, music tutorials and many other programme elements to please the most discerning jazz aficionado.

Run by Geoff Harrison, managing director of TV World Productions Ltd and the brain behind TV Magicians and TV Puppets, TV Jazz Music is designed to be a hub for the jazz music industry and its global fan base and is the first dedicated, 24 hour, jazz music television service.

Discussions are also underway with major jazz clubs and venues in central London to mount future live streaming feeds from concerts, allowing jazz fans from around the world to enjoy gigs they are unable to physically attend.

Geoff says: “It is an honour to be able to provide such a service. The flexibility of the internet allows us to broadcast material which is otherwise likely to be lost in the vaults of time, never to be seen again. TV Jazz Music celebrates the diversity of the jazz music genre, whilst also providing a relaxing and interesting programme line up for musicians and non musicians alike.”

There are 3000 plus jazz clubs worldwide and jazz events, from major festivals to regional and local fixtures, run into the thousands.*

Peter Maguire, who runs Jazz Clubs Worldwide, says: “Jazz is a major influence in the world – just listen to the background music on a high percentage of advertising. However, the public in general has no conception or perception of these facts. It is great that a channel such as TV Jazz Music now exists, so people all over the world can be introduced to this excellent genre of music.”

TV Jazz Music is available on the Global Digital Broadcast (GDBTV) platform, on the Something TV television set-top box service in the UK and online globally.
